When combining common-size and common-base year analysis, the effect of overall growth in assets can be eliminated by first forming the common size statements.

What is a common size statement?

An income statement with each line item expressed as a percentage of revenue or sales is referred to as a common size income statement. The usual size percentages assist in demonstrating the impact of each line item or component on the company's financial status.

Items are shown as a percentage of a common base amount, such as total sales revenue, in a financial statement of common size. This kind of financial statement makes it simple to compare one company to another or different time periods within the same company. You need to make some sort of size adjustment in order to compare those two businesses. Common-size financial statements are used for this.

Therefore, common size statement can eliminate the effect of overall growth in assets.

Where does the tradition of kissing under mistletoe come from?
nadya68 [22]
Most believe it originated from Norse Mythology.

The Norse Mythology goes like this:
Goddess Frigga, goddess of love, has a son named Balder, god of summer sun.
One day, Balder had a dream of death and told his mother about it. She was greatly alarmed because if Balder dies, being a god of summer sun, all life on earth will die too. So, she went to air, water, fire, earth and all the animals and plants to seek their promise not to harm her son, Balder. Unfortunately, she overlooked the mistletoe.
Mistletoes are hemiparasites. They grow on tree trunks or tree branches.
Loki, god of evil, the ultimate enemy of Balder used the mistletoe as an arrow tip and gave the arrow to Hoder, the blind god of winter, to shoot Balder. Hoder did and struck Balder dead.
With the earth's life forms gradually fading and unsuccessfully trying to revive Balder's body, Goddess Frigga held Balder's body and shed tears for him which revived him back to life. The tears fell on the mistletoe and turned into white berries.
Expressing her joy of having her son back, Goddess Frigga kissed everyone who passed under the tree where the mistletoe grew.
The story ended with a decree that whoever stands under the mistletoe, no harm shall befall them, only a kiss, a token of love.

When people in an industrialized society contaminate the environment, the action is called?
Anuta_ua [19.1K]

The answer is pollution. It is the introduction of noxious waste into the natural environment that cause adversative transformation. Pollution can take the form of chemical substances or energy, such as noise, heat or light. Pollutants, the components of pollution, can be either foreign substances or energies or naturally occurring contaminants but the majority of human activities causes the different kinds of pollution especially air pollutions. For instance, increased fossil fuel incineration from motor automobiles, industrial factories and power plants all propel large quantities of air pollutants, such as carbon monoxide, ozone and nitrous oxides, into the atmosphere.

kap26 [50]

As the Native Americans were worked to death and died of disease, it was mostly "Africans" who were brought in to replace them as laborers, since this is what led to a rapid rise in the Atlantic slave trade.
