The value of x and y from the figure is 55/3 and 16 respectively

<h3>Lines and angles</h3>

A line is the shortest distance between two points. An angle is the point where two lines meet.

From the given figure, the following are true

2y + 3 + x = 90

Determine the base angle "x"

x + x + 70 = 180

2x + 70 = 180

2x= 180 - 70

2x = 110

x = 55

Substitute

2y + 3 + 55 = 90

2y + 58 = 90
2y = 90 - 58
2y = 32

y = 16

Also

3x +2y + 3 = 90

3x + 32. = 87

3x = 87 - 32

3x= 55

x = 55/3

Hence the value of x and y from the figure is 55/3 and 16 respectively

The intersecting chords theorem states we can calculate the angle measure by... *
monitta

Answer:

A. Adding the values of the intercepted arcs and that is equal to twice the angle measure

Step-by-step explanation:

The intersecting chords theorem states that when four line segments are formed by two chords intersecting in a circle, the product of the two line segments on one chord is equal to the product of the two line segments on the other chord

The angles of intersecting chords theorem states that the angles formed by the intersecting chords one half the sum of the arcs intercepted by the chords

In the diagram attached, we have;

∠x = ∠y + ∠z

m\widehat{DHE} = 2·∠z, m\widehat{CIF} = 2·∠y

∴ ∠x = (1/2) × m\widehat{DHE} + m\widehat{CIF}

m\widehat{DHE} + m\widehat{CIF} = 2 × ∠x

The correct option is therefore adding the values of the intercepted arcs and that is equal to twice the angle measure.
