The statement 'many scientists helped developed it over many decades' describes the development of our understanding of DNA and inherited traits.

What is the DNA?

Deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA is a double helix molecule that stores the genetic information inherited across generations.

This molecule (DNA) contain genes and regulatory sequences that indicate the specific proteins an organism can produce.

In conclusion, the statement 'many scientists helped developed it over many decades' describes the development of our understanding of DNA and inherited traits.

Complete Question:

Which statement best describes the development of our understanding of DNA and Inherited traits?

 • A. Scientists working in the 17th century discovered it.
 • B. Many Scientists helped develop it over many decades.
 • C. Frederick Griffith figures it all out in 1928.
 • D. One scientist working alone discovered it over a few years

Eukaryotic telomeres replicate differently than the rest of the chromosome. This is a consequence of
WARRIOR [948]

Answer: gaps left at the 5' end of the lagging strand.

Explanation:

Eukaryotic Chromosomes are known as the repetitive at the very ends of chromosomes, found in a wide range of Eukaryotic species. They protect the end chromosomes from deterioration or fusion with the neighboring chromosomes.

Telomeres provide a mechanism for their replication by semi conservative DNA replication (a replication in which two parental DNA strands would act as a template for new DNA strands to be synthesized) and length maintenance by Telomerase Enzymes. Telomerase Enzymes are used to extend shortened telomeres during its’ DNA replication.

DNA replication in Eukaryotic Telomeres doesn’t begins at the either end of the DNA strands but starts in the center, and considering that all known DNA Polymerase ( an enzyme that is essential for DNA replication) read the template strand in the 3’ to 5’ direction, one finds a leading strand and a lagging strand on the DNA molecule being replicated.

On the leading strand, DNA Polymerase make complementary DNA strand without any difficulty because it reads the template strand from 3’ to 5’.

On the other hand, there is a difficulty going in the other direction on the lagging strand.

WHY? This is “due to gaps left at the 5’ end of the lagging strand”. To overcome this difficulty, short sequences of RNA acting as Primers (a short single-stranded nucleic acid utilized by all living organisms in the initiation of DNA synthesis) attach to the lagging strand, a short distance ahead of where the initiation site was.

I hope this helps alot!

select one of the main body systems and explain why it is essential to keep the whole body functioning
tatiyna
Circulatory system:

--The circulatory system is also known as the cardiovascular system.
-- It is composed of the heart, blood, blood vessels and also includes the lungs.

The primary function of the circulatory system to distribute oxygen, nutrients, hormones and other gases to cells of the other body systems. It delivers all the necessary components needed for all the cell activities. Without the circulatory system, we would not be alive.

It is our blood that carries these necessary nutrients, hormones, and oxygen. All these components trigger certain processes that keep other organs functioning. It also plays a role in eliminating waste by carrying them to the necessary organs that will filter them out. Without a way to dispose of waste, the body will eventually die.

Why was it important for Mendel to study such a large sample of pea plants? O A. A higher sample size gives more accurate result
snow_tiger [21]

A.) A higher sample size gives more accurate results , is the correct answer.

Explanation:

By examining large sample sizes, Mendel showed that his crosses behaved reproducibly according to the laws of probability, and that the traits were inherited as independent events. Two rules in probability can be used to find the expected proportions of offspring of different traits from different crosses.

I hope it'll help you...
