The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Academy) is the largest association of qualified nutrition and dietetics practitioners, including registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs), nutrition and dietetic technologists, and registered dietitians (NDTRs).

RDNs combine research, professional growth, and practice to promote innovation and discovery, work with others to address today's and tomorrow's most pressing food and nutrition issues, concentrate on systemic effects across the food, wellness, and health sectors, have a global impact on the eradication of all forms of malnutrition, and strengthen the role of nutrition and dietetics practitioners while increasing workforce capacity and capability. The minimal competent level of nutrition and dietetics practice and professional performance for RDNs is reflected in these standards.
