A snail moves along a straight line with a constant speed, changing direction by a right angle every 3 minutes. It follows this

pattern for 2 hours and 45 minutes. During the last minute of its trip, will the snail be parallel to the line it started along or perpendicular to it?

After moving for 2 hours and 45 minutes, the snail will be perpendicular to the line with it started along.

The snail is moving along a straight line and it changes its direction in every three minutes at a right angle. The snail continues to move in such manner for the next 2 hours and 45 minutes.

We know,

1 hours = 60 minutes

2 hours = 120 minutes

The total time for which the snail moves is (120+45) minutes.

Total time for which snail moves is 165 minutes.

We should use hit and trial method here,

In this method, we use the possibilities to the calculate the result.

The snails turns uncle every 3 minutes, so the total times he turns is,

Total turns = 165/3

Total turns = 55 turns

When it turns for the 1st time,

It perpendicular to the initial line,

When it turns for the 2nd time,

It is parallel to the initial line,

On observing the pattern, we can see,

That every odd number turn is perpendicular to the initial line at every even number turn is parallel to the initial line.

So, on the 55th turn, as it is odd number,

The snail will be perpendicular to the initial line.

What is the acceleration of a rock at the top of its trajectory when thrown straight upward. explain whether or not the answer i
zvonat [6]

The acceleration of the rock is the gravitational acceleration due to earth which is around 9.8 m/s^2. As the rock travels upwards it is working against the constant force of gravity and when it reaches the top it is the force of gravity that will cause a cause in the direction of the rocks velocity and cause it to accelerate towards earth. Using the equation a = F/m, the acceleration due to gravity exerts a force per unit mass on an object causing the object to accelerate, anything above earth surface will therefore have an external gravitational force action on it (in terms of projectile motion). So at the top of the rocks trajectory, the acceleration of the rock will be g (9.8) as a constant force is gravity is exerted on the rock throughout its path.

El tubo de entrada que suministra presión de aire para operar un gato hidráulico tiene 2 cm de diámetro. El pistón de salida es
topjm [15]

Answer:

P₁ = 219.3 Pa

Explanation:

This fluid mechanics problem, we can use that the pressure is distributed with the same value throughout the system, which is Pascal's principle.

Let's use the subinidce1 for the small diameter and the subscript 2 for the larger diameter.

              P₁ = P₂

pressure is defined by

             P = F / A

we subtitute

             F₁ / A₁ = F₂ / A₂

             F₁ = F₂ A₁ / A₂

the area in a circle is

             A = π r² = π d² / 4

we substitute

            F₁ = F₂ (d₁ / d₂)²

we calculate

           F₁ = 17640 (2/32)²

           F₁ = 68.9 N

Having the force to be applied we can find the air pressure on the small plunger

          P₁ = F₁ / A₁

          P₁ = F₁ 4 / π d₁²

let's calculate

          P₁ = 68.9 4 / (π 0.02²)

          P₁ = 219.3 Pa

A spring with a spring constant of 2500 n/m. is stretched 4.00 cm. what is the work required to stretch the spring?
Lyrx [107]
W = 1/2k*x^2.

k = spring constant = 2500 n/m.
x = distance = 4 cm = 0.04m (convert to same units).

W = 1/2(2500)(0.04)^2 = 2J.
