In this case, we'll have to carry out several steps to find the solution.

Step 01:

Data

Walk-a-thon

total time = 4 days

total distance = 52 miles

equation distance per day = ?

Step 02:

x = distance per day

x\text{ = }\frac{total\text{ distance}}{\text{total time}}=\frac{52\text{ miles}}{4\text{ days}}

x = 52 / 4

x = 13 miles / day

The answer is:

The equation is x = 52 / 4, he walked 13 miles per day.

None, the equation 6x - 2 = 6x + 7 does not have any solutions.

<h3>What is an algebraic equation? </h3>

An algebraic equation is an equation that consists of numbers and variables. To solve the variables, there is a need to make use of some or all of the arithmetic operations such as:

  • Addition
  • Subtraction
  • Division, and
  • Multiplication

From the given equation:

6x - 2 = 6x + 7

Collect like terms

6x - 6x -2 - 7 = 0

0 - 9 = 0

Since there is no variable to solve for in the equation, we can conclude that the equation does not have any solutions.
