The two column proof is written as follows

Statement                                                           Reason

AD ≅ BD ≅ CD given

ΔADB and ΔCDB are isosceles Base angles are equal

< A =  < C = < ABD = < CBD = x              Definition of isosceles triangle.

< ABC =  < ABD + < CBD                         Adjacent angles

< ABC = x + x = 2x                                   Substitution property of equality

< ABC + < A + < C = 180                          Sum of angels of a triangle

2x + x + x = 180                                       Substitution property of equality

4x = 180                                                   Addition property of equality

x = 45 degrees Division property of equality

< ABC = 2x = 2 * 45                                Substitution property of equality

< ABC = 90 Definition of right triangle

What is a right triangle?

A triangle is said to be a right triangle if one of the angles is 90 degrees. Right angles are angles that are 90 degrees.

The proof required to proof that < B is 90

With the isosceles triangle giving and the equal sides the equation is written as

4x = 180

x = 45

< B has 2x (< ABD + < CBD) these are adjacent angles

< B = 2 * 45

< B = 90

Two brothers decide that a 21-hour task is to be divided so thst the older brother works twice as long as the younger brother. H
lyudmila [28]

Answer:

14 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's call the task 3x

The older bro does twice as younger so it would be 2x long and younger brother work x long

Since the totsl of work is 3x = 21 x woul be 21÷3 = 7

the older brother must work 2 × 7 = 14 hours long

A trapezoid has bases with lengths of 1.5 yards and 4 yards. The height is 12 yards. What is the area of the trapezoid?
Georgia [21]
Answer: 33 square yards

Explanation: To solve this, we must first add both bases together, 1.5 and 4.

1.5 + 4 = 5.5

Next, we must multiply 5.5 and 12

12 x 5.5 = 66

The last step is to divide our product by 2, similar what we do to triangles.

66/2 = 33
