Exocytosis is considered an active transport process because it takes energy to move neurotransmitters across nerve cells and is denoted as option C.

This is a term which is referred to as the form of active transport which involves molecules or substances such as neurotransmitters being moved from within the cell to the exterior parts for various purposes.

This process involves the use of energy for it to occur which is usually in the form of ATP known as the energy currency of cells which is why it is regarded as an active transport process hence option C was chosen.
