the table below represents the displacement of a turtle from its nest as a function of time.Part A. What is the y intercept of t

he function and what does it tell you about the turtle?part b. calculate the average rate of change of the function represented by the table between x = 1 to x = 4 hours and tell what the average rate represents.part c. what would be the domain of the function if the turtle continued to walk at this rate until it traveled 225 miles from the nest?

Part A.

Y intercept is the coordinate (0,y), when the function has an x value of 0, it is the y intercept.

In this case:

(0,5) =

y intercept = 5

IT tells about the turtle that it starts at a nest displacement of 5 miles.

Part B

The average rate of change represents the speed .

x1=1 ,y1=27

x2=4 ,y2=93

We have to calculate the slope if the function:

\text{slope}=\text{ }\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

Replace:

\text{slope}=\frac{93-27}{4-1}\text{ = }\frac{66}{3}=22

Part C.

speed = distance /time

time= distance / speed

time= 225 / 22 = 10.22 hours

The domain will be

0< x ≤ 10.22

A scale of 1:40 can be read as "one cm on the model corresponds to 40 cm in the original object". or

"one inch on the model corresponds to 40 inches
this means that  the 2 inches correspond to 2 times 40, that is 80 inches and 1.5 corresponds to 1.5*40=60 inches

which means that the original painting has dimensions of 80 by 60 inches.
b) Area = 80 cm * 60 cm = 4,800 cm²
c) 80 cm * 1 inch / 2.54 cm = 31.50 inches ;
    60 cm * 1 inch/2.54 cm = 23.60 inches
d) Area = 31.50 in * 23.60 in = 743.40 inches²

If a circle has a circumference of 6.28 inches, then what is the radius?
Dominik [7]
Circumference = 2\pi r \\  \\ C = 2 (3.14)r \\  \\ 6.28 = 2 (3.14)r \\  \\ 6.28 = 6.28r \\  \\\boxed {\bf{ r =1}}

The radius is 1 inch.

How to solve 5(2b-3)-1(11b+1)=20
son4ous [18]

Answer:

b = -36

Step-by-step explanation:

Start by distributing both th 5 and the negative 1 into their corresponding parentheses.

((5*2b)-(5*3)) > (10b - 15)

((-1*11b)+(-1*1)) > (-11b - 1)

so you have:

10b - 15 - 11b - 1 = 20

Next you would Combine like terms to get:

-b - 16 = 20

Add the 16 to both sides

-b = 36

and divide each side by -1

b = - 36

hope this helps

the sum of two numbers is 64. The smaller number is 6 less than the larger number. What are the numbers?
klemol [59]

x + y = 64

x = y + 6

y + 6 + y = 64

2y + 6 = 64

2y = 58

<h2>y = 28</h2>

x = y + 6

x = 28 + 6

<h2>x = 34</h2>

34 + 28 = 64

34 - 28 = 6
