The values would be

sin2x = -3/5

cos2x = -4/5

tan2x = 3/4

What are double angles in trigonometry?

The double angle formulas are used to find the values of double angles of trigonometric functions using their single angle values. For example, the value of cos 30° can be used to find the value of cos 60°. Also, the double-angle formulas can be used to derive the triple-angle formulas.

Given: tanx = -3

Now as we know,

                  sin2x=\frac{2tanx}{1+tan^2x}\\\\sin2x=\frac{2(-3)}{1+(-3)^2}\\\\sin2x=\frac{-6}{10}\\\\sin2x=\frac{-3}{5}

Now

               cos2x=\frac{1-tan^2x}{1+tan^2x}\\\\cos2x=\frac{1-(-3)^2}{1+(-3)^2}\\\\cos2x=\frac{1-9}{1+9}\\\\cos2x=\frac{-8}{10}\\\\cos2x=\frac{-4}{5}

And similarly, we can find the value of tan2x, as

                  tan2x = sin2x/cos2x

                             = (-3/5)/(-4/5)

                             = 3/4

Hence,

The values would be

sin2x = -3/5

cos2x = -4/5

tan2x = 3/4

Ellis is painting wooden fenceposts before putting them in his yard. They are each 6 feet tall and have a diameter of 1 foot. Th
katen-ka-za [31]

Answer:

244.92 ft^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Find out the surface area of 1 fence post.

It has 2 circular parts (a bottom and a top)

r = d / 2

r = 1 / 2

r = 0.5 feet.

Area = 3.14 * 0.5^2

area = 3.14 * 0.25

Area = 0.785

Each post has 2 such shapes. 2 * 0.785 = 1.57

There are 12 posts with areas of 1.57 on the bottom and top  = 18.84 ft^2

Find the area of the long part of the post

h = 6 feet

circumference = 2* pi * r

circumference = 2* 3.14 * .5

circumference = 3.14

The height is 6 feet.

The area of the body of the pole 6 *circumference = 6 * 3.14 = 18.84 ft^2

There are 12 poles.

Total area = 12 *18.84 ft^2 =  226.08

Total area = 12 bodies + 24 ends

Total area = 226.08 + 18.84

Total area = 244.92

Which option below best describes why the domain of g(x) = 5–x is all real numbers but the range of g is not all real numbers? T
slega [8]

Answer:

The function is

g(x) = 5^(-x)

This question can be easily solved by using a graphing calculator

and plotting the graph of g(x)

In the image below, we can see that for each value of x , there is a corresponding value for g(x)

This means that the function does not have any discontinuities. Therefore,

The domain of g(x) is all real numbers  (x ∈ R)

The range is related to the values that can be achieved by g(x),

Since it is a positive exponential function, all values will be g(x)>0

And the range would be (0,∞)

Use the quadratic formula to find the solutions to the quadratic equation below x^2-7x-3=0
cupoosta [38]

the roots are \frac{7+\sqrt{61} }{2} and \frac{7-\sqrt{61} }{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

here we use Shridhar acharya formula

if ax^{2} + bx +c = 0 is the quadratic equation

the the roots are , \frac{-b +\sqrt{b^{2-4ac} } }{2a} and \frac{-b -\sqrt{b^{2-4ac} } }{2a}

comparing with the equation we get a=1 b= -7 c = -3

hence the roots are \frac{7 +\sqrt{7^{2-4X1X(-3)} } }{2X1} and \frac{7 -\sqrt{7^{2-4X1X(-3)} } }{2X1}

= \frac{7+\sqrt{61} }{2} and \frac{7-\sqrt{61} }{2}

yanalaym [24]

Answer:

  • D. 32 times; 5/4*40 = 32

Step-by-step explanation:

It is expected the spinner to land on Red 1/5 times.

<u>If the spinner is spun 40 times, then it should land on Red:</u>

  • 1/5*40 = 8 times

<u>And it should not land on red:</u>

  • (1 - 1/5)*40 = 4/5*40 = 32 times

Correct choice is D
