ling used to rush to her infant son and pick him up every time he cried. lately, she has stopped rushing to him, and he has decreased his crying. according to the principles of operant conditioning, this is due to extinction

Operant conditioning, sometimes referred to as instrumental conditioning, is a form of associative learning process whereby the strength of a behaviour is altered by rewards or penalties. It is also a method that is employed to facilitate such learning.

Although both operant and classical conditioning entail actions that are influenced by their surroundings, they are fundamentally different. In operant conditioning, environmental cues dictate behaviour. A toddler may learn, for instance, how to open a box to retrieve the candy inside or how to keep their hands away from a hot stove; in operant terminology, these are both "discriminative stimuli." It is argued that operational behaviour is "voluntary". Operant responses are those that are controlled by the organism.

5. What is environmental racism? What is one example of environmental racism? Critical Thinking Questions 1. Do you think that N
Morgarella [4.7K]

Answer:

Answered below

Explanation:

Environmental racism has to do with environmental population of neighborhoods populated by ethnic minority groups and races. Such population include; air pollution, garbage dumps, toxic waste facilities and hazards. An example of environmental racism is the asbestos in used housing and schools located in African American communities.

1) The American culture contributes to environmental racism because of their history with racism and slavery. The environmental policies were made to the disadvantage of minority groups.

2) Food scarcity is still very much a problem and a huge concern especially in poorer countries in Asia, South America and Africa. Increased population in these areas is a concern.

3) A higher population is a burden to resources available to us and therefore people should be concerned. The environment suffers as a result. The rate of pollution increases as human activities cause the destruction of natural protective mechanisms. Such activities include; industrial pollution, deforestation etc

4) Overpopulated countries should control their population growth. Methods such as birth control mechanisms and education would go a long way in helping this. Limiting the growth of an already overpopulated country is beneficial to humans and the environment.

balandron [24]
I would say D because they ball did accelerate but the force on the ball didn't increase because the force is from Juan's hand who is stopping the ball. So, that makes the sentence kind of incomplete and false. The greater acceleration means greater force is true because it will take more strength for the ball to stop. And the rest are saying about the same thing. I hope this helps!

LenKa [72]

Answer:The preoperational stage

Explanation:The preoperational stage is the second stage in Piaget's theory of cognitive development. It start from the age of 2 and last up to when the child is seven.
