The tectonic plates represent the different parts of the earth's crust and are always in motion, causing changes in the landforms of the planet.
We know that the Earth's crust corresponds to the top layer of the Earth, which is formed by rocks in their solid state. The lower layers - except the inner core, which is also solid - have a liquid or pasty texture. The big question is that the earth's crust does not appear in a continuous way over the entire length of the planet. It is fractured into several “pieces” that are always moving, known as tectonic plates.
