During the period from 1200 to 1450, trade increased thanks to the large number of Empires that emerged and grew during that time.

What is regional and transregional trade?

Regional trade is a term that refers to trade that occurs within the same region. This can occur through land, sea, air and river routes.

On the other hand, transregional trade is a term that refers to trade that occurs between different regions, that is, trade that travels longer distances. Like regional trade, different transport routes can be used, however, air and sea routes prevail.

How did the growth and emergence of empires contribute to the increase in trade?

During the 13th to the 15th century, the Kingdoms of Europe had great capacities for agricultural, weapons, textile production, among others. However, they could not produce some items that were produced in other kingdoms or other regions of the world such as the Middle East, North Africa and the Far East.

Therefore, during the Middle Ages, the Silk Road that connected Europe with the Far East was strengthened and many cities that coincided with this route became large commercial centers. An example of this growth was the influence that the Eastern empires had on the control of this route and the trade of spices and other products.

8. Why did Memphis become a center for the cotton industry and the slave trade? (choose two)
almond37 [142]

Answer:

 • A. West Tennessee was the richest cotton-producing region in the state.
 • E. Memphis was located on the Mississippi River.

Explanation:

Memphis is located in the western area of Tennessee where due to very fertile soil, a high grade of cotton could be produced. This allowed for large plantations around Memphis that saw the city rise in statue as cotton was traded in it.

Memphis was also located on the Mississippi river which meant that it had transport facilities both for the cotton that was being farmed and the enslaved people that were being brought to farm them.

How well did Andrew Jackson promote democracy politically, economically, and culturally in the United States?
Zepler [3.9K]
I would give him a score of about 5 out of 1.He greatly democratized the process of elections in that era and was our first grassroots president. However, Jackson usually did what Jackson wanted to do, even if it meant alienating many of the people who got him elected. He did not side with Southerners during the nullification crisis and was prepared to use troops against South Carolina to enforce a law that most Southerners hated. He blatantly ignored John Marshall’s decision in Worcester v. Georgia, but an argument could be made here that he was acting in favor of democracy in this case, as most white Southerners probably wanted the Cherokee moved off of their land. He was a very complex and fascinating guy, but his critics called him King Andrew for a reason.0.
