Answer:

Milgram's research on obedience has stirred controversy regarding its ethics.

Explanation:

The participants in Milgram's famous experiment were deceived and possibly psychologically harmed, which made the experiment's methodology be seen as controversial. Milgram recruited a group of male adults to administer an electric shock to a person who was strapped to a chair every time that person made a mistake. The participant was not aware that the shocks weren't real and that the person sitting in the chair was a confederate of Milgram's. The participants were to stay in a different room with an actor who played an experimenter, whose job was solely to give them orders such as "You must continue". The majority of participants ended up obeying the experimenter, administering shocks with increased intensity to the point that the person in the chair would be killed. They left the experiment truly believing they had killed somebody. That is why the experiment was controversial.

What are the most popular religious practices? Where are they practiced around the world? Why is religion important to the devel
Ugo [173]

There are some 4,300 religions of the world. This is according to Adherents, an independent, non-religiously affiliated organisation that monitors the number and size of the world's religions.

Side-stepping the issue of what constitutes a religion, Adherents divides religions into churches, denominations, congregations, religious bodies, faith groups, tribes, cultures, and movements. All are of varying size and influence.

Nearly 75 per cent of the world's population practices one of the five most influential religions of the world: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism.

Christianity and Islam are the two religions most widely spread across the world. These two religions together cover the religious affiliation of more than half of the world's population. If all non-religious people formed a single religion, it would be the world's third largest.

One of the most widely-held myths among those in English-speaking countries is that Islamic believers are Arabs. In fact, most Islamic people do not live in the Arabic nations of the Middle East.

What was the motivation for the second wave of settlers
butalik [34]

Explanation:

The settlement of these colonies was motivated by religion. In 1620, a group of settlers left Plymouth, England, to join the settlers in Jamestown. Among them were the separatists, a group of people who believed the Church of England to be corrupt and thus sought to break from it.
