Ancient Egypt's culture owed a lot to the Nile River and its reliable seasonal floods. The Egyptians were able to create an economy based on abundant agriculture thanks to the river's regularity and the region's fertile land.

Grain was the first crop grown in Egyptian agriculture following the flood season (also known called the Season of the Inundation). Ancient Egyptian farmers would plant vegetables after harvesting the grain. Large grain storage were built by the Egyptians to keep the grain dry and fresh.
