8 0

Answer: It is only +8 because it is an odd power, so you're only multiplying 3 numbers together and not 2 or 4 and so on. Any odd power is always only going to have 1 answer because if you try the other one then it comes out to be the opposite.

You only need the parenthesis if you want to plug it into a calculator because -7 in a calculator is taken as subtracting 7 while (-7) is taken as a negative 7. They are just building good habits early.

5 (x + 2 ) + 6 ( x - 3 ) = 25+
lapo4ka [179]
5(x + 2) + 6(x - 3) = 25

Simplify.

5x + 10 + 6x - 18 = 25

Add like terms.

(5x + 6x) + (10 - 18) = 25

Simplify.

11x - 8 = 25

Add 8 to both sides.

11x = 25 + 8

Simplify.

11x = 33

Divide both sides by 11.

x = 3

How many liters of water must Sharon add to 2 liters of a sugar and water solution that is 36% sugar to create a solution that i
Dahasolnce [82]

The amount of sugar x in the starting solution contributes to a 36% concentration, so we have

\dfrac x2=0.36\implies x=0.64

units of sugar in the solution.

Into this solution, Sharon wants to pour y liters of water to obtain a smaller concentration of sugar in the overall solution:

\dfrac{0.64}{2+y}=0.12\implies\dfrac{16}3=2+y\implies y=\dfrac{10}3\approx3.33

So Sharon needs to add \dfrac{10}3 liters of water to the solution to get the desired concentration.

What is the difference between Experimental and Theoretical probability?
Alchen [17]

Answer: An experimental probability is based on past events, and a theoretical probability is based on analyzing what could happen. An experimental probability approaches a theoretical one when enough random samples are used.
