Moles of CO₂ after it has gone flat is 4.69×10⁶ mol

Given,

  Pressure of Carbon Dioxide= 4atm

  Volume of Can of soda=355ml

  Henry's Constant of CO₂ = 3.3 ×10² mol/L.atm

Now,

   We know that

C =  k_{H}×P

where

C= concentration of CO₂

C= 3.3 ×10² mol/L.atm×4atm

Hence ,

Concentration of CO₂= 0.132 mol/L

Given

  Volume of soda = 355ml=0.355L

Hence,

  No. of moles of Carbon Dioxide = 0.132 mol/L×0.355L

                                                        = 0.047 mol

b) When we open the can, Carbon Dioxide will realease the pressure in the can will equal to the pressure of Carbon Dioxide in air.

According to Henry's Law

We know that ,

   C =  k_{H}×P

partial pressure of CO₂ = 4×10⁻⁴ atm

Hence ,

C = 3.3 ×10² mol/L.atm×4×10⁻⁴ atm

     = 1.32 ×10⁻⁵mol/L

Hence in 355 ml of can moles of CO₂ =   1.32 ×10⁻⁵mol/L × 0.355L

                                                               = 4.69×10⁶ mol of CO₂ after the soda has gone flat.

From the above conclusion we can say that , Moles of CO₂ after it has gone flat is 4.69×10⁶ mol.

The empirical and molecular formula : C₂₁H₂₂N₂O₂

Further explanation

Given

The percent composition of an unknown substance is 75.42% Carbon, 6.63 % Hydrogen, 8.38 % Nitrogen, and 9.57 % Oxygen

Required

The empirical and  molecular formula

Solution

C : 75.42 : 12 = 6.285

H : 6.63 : 1 = 6.63

N : 8.38 : 14 = 0.599

O : 9.57 : 16 = 0.598

Divide by 0.598

C : H : N : O = 10.5 : 11 : 1 : 1 = 21 : 22 : 2 : 2

The empirical formula : C₂₁H₂₂N₂O₂

(C₂₁H₂₂N₂O₂)n = 334

(334)n=334

n = 1

What is the appropriate chemical formula for Iron(III) Sulfate? Sulfate is SO_4^2 Fe3SO4 O a . Fe2(SO4)3 O b. O c. Fe2SO4 O d. F
AnnyKZ [126]

Answer: The chemical formula of Iron (III) sulfate is Fe_2(SO_4)_3

Explanation:

Iron is the 26th element of periodic table having electronic configuration of [Ar]3d^64s^2.

To form Fe^{3+} ion, this element will loose 3 electrons.

Sulfate ion is a polyatomic ion having chemical formula of SO_4^{2-}

By criss-cross method, the oxidation state of the ions gets exchanged and they form the subscripts of the other ions. This results in the formation of a neutral compound.

So, the chemical formula for Iron (III) sulfate is Fe_2(SO_4)_3

No they do not. Water is denser than oil so it sinks to the bottom and the oil floats.
