Answer:

The technique that is used in inserting a gene into a crop is genetic modification.

What is genetic modified crop?

A genetically modified organism (GMO) is a living organism whose DNA has been altered using genetic engineering techniques.

Humans have used breeding methods to modify organisms for thousands of years. Over generations, corn, cattle, and even dogs have been selectively bred to have certain desired traits.

The majority of GMO crops grown today were developed to assist farmers in preventing crop and food loss and controlling weeds.

The following are the most common traits found in GMO crops: Resistance to certain harmful insects, and Tolerance to certain weed-controlling herbicides.

Thus, with the help of genetic modification, a gene that controls beta-carotene production can be successfully inserted into a common food crop.

Arrange the following steps from a typical genetic modification procedure into their correct sequence.
ollegr [7]

Answer:

c. Isolate bacterial plasmid

a. Select the gene of interest + insert into plasmid

f. Plasmid taken up by bacterium

d. Bacteria replicate

e. Cloned gene harvested from bacteria

b. Protein product harvested from bacteria

Explanation:

Genetic modification refers to the biological procedure involving the manipulation of an organism's genome in order to achieve a desirable result. This process is carried out by inserting or deleting a desirable gene (encodes the desirable trait) from the organism.

Bacteria DNA called PLASMID is commonly used for genetic engineering/modification procedure. The plasmid is used to convey/carry the gene into the organism. According to this question, the correct order of the procedure is as follows:

- c. Isolate bacterial plasmid

- a. Select the gene of interest + insert into plasmid

- f. Plasmid taken up by bacterium

- d. Bacteria replicate

- e. Cloned gene harvested from bacteria

- b. Protein product harvested from bacteria

Hemophilia is a condition in which blood does not clot naturally, and a person with hemophilia could bleed to death if injured.
barxatty [35]

As we know our blood has four main components which are plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. That is why a hemophiliac must receive regular injections of platelets to stay alive. This is done by injecting into their bloodstream human plasma which contains many proteins, glucose, clotting factors, electrolytes, hormones, and carbon dioxide.
