Find the equation in terms of y in the form x = f(y).

$\begin{gathered} y-2=\frac{-3}{x+1} \\ x+1=\frac{-3}{y-2} \\ x=\frac{-3}{y-2}-1 \end{gathered}$

Replace y by x in the right hand side, which will be the required inverse of the function.

$g^{-1}(x)=-\frac{3}{x-2}-1$
