Mike shoots a large marble (Marble A, mass: 0.05 kg) at a smaller marble (Marble B, mass: 0.03 kg) that is sitting still. Marble

A was initially moving at a velocity of 0.6 m/s, but after the collision it has a velocity of −0.2 m/s. What is the resulting velocity of marble B after the collision? Please show how you did this?

Answer

1.333 m/s

Explanation

The momentum before collision and after collision is always conserved.

m₁v₁ = m₂v₂

(0.05×0.6) + (0.03×0) = (0.03 × v) + (0.05 × -0.2)

0.03 + 0 = 0.03v - 0.01

0.03v = 0.03+0.01

0.03v = 0.04

v = 0.04/0.03

 = 4/3

 = 1.333 m/s

Which statement is true about the graph of two lines y=-6 and x=1/6
Gelneren [198K]
The graph of the line y = -6 is a horizontal line which passes through the y axis at -6. On the other hand, the graph of the equation, x = 1/6 is a vertical line that passes through the x-axis at 1/6. The intersection of these lines is at a point that is expressed as (1/6, -6).

I need to know the equations
dem82 [27]
Let l, t, b represent the numbers of lions, tigers, bears, respectively.

2l +3t +3b = 156 . . . . . . . 156 meals per day are supplied
l +t = 3b . . . . . . . . . . . . . . there are 3 times as many great cats as bears
l +t +b = 68 . . . . . . . . . . . there are a total of 68 animals

_____
The last 2 equations tell you
.. 4b = 68
.. b = 17
Subtracting 3 times the last equation from the first gives
.. -l = -48
There are 48 lions, 3 tigers, and 17 bears.
