The list of the buildings arranged in the order from shortest to tallest

  • Marina 101
  • The Wuhan Center
  • The Zifeng Tower
  • The Shanghai tower

The heights in feet shows that

2072 feet(is the tallest) > 1,476 feet >  1,437 feet > 1400 feet (is the least)

<h3>How to arrange the buildings from shortest to tallest</h3>

Given that the z scores are 127 for The Shanghai tower and -0.84 for Marina

z score = (X - mean) / standard deviation

X = z score * standard deviation + mean

The Shanghai tower

= 1.27 * 318.31 + 1667.25 = 2071.5037 feet

Marina 101

= -0.84 * 318.31 + 1667.25 = 1399.8696 feet

The Zifeng Tower

= 1,476 feet

The Wuhan Center

= 1,437 feet

comparing the heights

2072 feet > 1,476 feet >  1,437 feet > 1400 feet

Volume of a cylinder= (height) x area of the base (circle)

We know the height = 160 cm (given), let's find the radius of the base.

The circumference of the base = 87.92 = 2πR==> R=87.92/(2π) =13.993 cm

Area of circle = πR²=π(13.993)² = 615.128 cm²

Hence the volume of the cylinder = 615.128 x 160 = 92,420.48 cm³

Problem in image. Explain it too.
alexandr1967 [171]

\sqrt{40}  = 6.32\\\\\\or\\5\sqrt{15} \\\\

this is because when 40 is broken down into two numbers (one divisible to get out of the square root, and one not) you get 25 + 15 under the square root. we know that the square root of 25 is 5, so we can put 5 outside the root and leave 15 inside.

-------------- try the next problem, and if you don't understand, please reply back.

answer is for a) 5\sqrt{15}
