The 20 tallest buildings in the world have an average height of 1,667.25 feet, with a standard deviation of 318.31 feet. The Zif

eng Tower and the Wuhan Center have heights of
1,476 feet and 1,437 feet, respectively. The Shanghai Tower and Marina 101 have z-scores of 1.27 and -0.84, respectively.

The list of the buildings arranged in the order from shortest to tallest

  • Marina 101
  • The Wuhan Center
  • The Zifeng Tower
  • The Shanghai tower

The heights in feet shows that

2072 feet(is the tallest) > 1,476 feet >  1,437 feet > 1400 feet (is the least)

<h3>How to arrange the buildings from shortest to tallest</h3>

Given that the z scores are 127 for The Shanghai tower and -0.84 for Marina

z score = (X - mean) / standard deviation

X = z score * standard deviation + mean

The Shanghai tower

= 1.27 * 318.31 + 1667.25 = 2071.5037 feet

Marina 101

= -0.84 * 318.31 + 1667.25 = 1399.8696 feet

The Zifeng Tower

= 1,476 feet

The Wuhan Center

= 1,437 feet

comparing the heights

2072 feet > 1,476 feet >  1,437 feet > 1400 feet

The probability density function of the time to failure of an electronic component in a copier (in hours) is f(x)= e^-x/100 /100
Georgia [21]

Answer:

Check the explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

The fundamentals

A continuous random variable can take infinite values in the range associated function of that variable. Consider f\left( x \right)f(x) is a function of a continuous random variable within the range \left[ {a,b} \right][a,b] , then the total probability in the range of the function is defined as:

\int\limits_a^b {f\left( x \right)dx} = 1 a∫b f(x)dx=1

The probability of the function f\left( x \right)f(x) is always greater than 0. The cumulative distribution function is defined as:

F\left( x \right) = P\left( {X \le x} \right)F(x)=P(X≤x)

The cumulative distribution function for the random variable X has the property,

0 \le F\left( x \right) \le 10≤F(x)≤1

The probability density function for the random variable X has the properties,

\\\begin{array}{c}\\{\rm{ }}f\left( x \right) \ge 0\\\\\int\limits_{ - \infty }^\infty {f\left( x \right)dx} = 1\\\\P\left( E \right) = \int\limits_E {f\left( x \right)dx} \\\end{array} f(x)≥0
