It is a question of patterns, hence we will have to decipher the pattern to get the answer.

We can see that in the first row, 2 is becoming 10, 20 is becoming 28 and 44 is becoming 52.

Hence, 8 is added to the whole first row to get the second row.

Hence, the missing number is second row will be 8 + 8 = 16.

Now, we can see that, in the third row 10 is becoming 20, 52 is becoming 62, hence, 10 is added to the second row to get the third row.

Hence, 28 will become 38 and 16 will become 26.

Now in the fourth row, we can see that 26 is becoming 37, hence, 11 is added to the third row to get the fourth row.

Hence, 20 will become 31, 38 will become 49, and 62 will become 73.

Find the volumes of the solids whose bases are bounded by the circle x^2 + y^2 = 9, with the indicated cross sections taken perp
labwork [276]

x ^2 + y ^2 = 9 => y = y(x) = ± √(9 - x ^2)

Each cross section would be a square with side length equal to the vertical distance between the upper and lower semicircles defined by y(x), which is

√(9 - x ^2) - (- √(9 - x ^2)) = 2 √(9 - x ^2)

The area of each square section is the square of this length,

(2 √(9 - x ^2)) = 4 (9 - x ^2) = 36 - 4x ^2

We get the whole solid for -3 ≤ x ≤ 3, so integrating gives a volume of

\displaystyle\int_{-3}^3(36-4x^2)\,\mathrm dx=\boxed{144}

The Ferris wheel has a radius of 70 feet. The distance between the wheel and the ground is 4 feet. The rectangular coordinate sy
Leya [2.2K]

Answer:

The equation of the circular wheel is x^2+(y-74)^2=(70)^2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Radius of Ferris wheel r = 70 feet.

The distance between the wheel and the ground = 4 feet.

Also, the rectangular coordinate system shown has its origin on the ground directly below the center of the wheel.

So the x coordinate of center of wheel must be 0 , and y coordinate = 70 + 4 = 74

Thus, Coordinates of center = (0,74)

The equation of circle is given by :-

(x-h)^2+(y-k)^2=r^2

Now center (h,k) = (0,74) and r = 70 , we get

x^2+(y-74)^2=(70)^2

Hence, the equation of the circular wheel is x^2+(y-74)^2=(70)^2.
