In 1936 in the united states, airlines and their employees were added to those covered by the Railway Labor Act.

The Railway Labor Act is a United States federal labor law statute that regulates labor relations in the railroad and airline industries. Enacted in 1926 and amended in 1934 and 1936, the law was intended to replace strikes to settle labor disputes with collective bargaining, arbitration, and mediation.

This new law was formally signed by President Coolidge on May 20, 1926, and named the Railroad Labor Act of 1926 (RLA). The RLA was the first federal law to guarantee workers the right to form and join unions and elect representatives without coercion or employer intervention.

When Karl Marx stated that religion was the opiate of the masses , he was referring to the way that religion kept workers obedient by promising happiness in the afterlife.

Karl Marx felt very strong about organized religion. He felt that that religion was used as a tool to keep citizens obedient. Organized religion would help ensure that no citizen would question the society they live in. Marx considered religion as a technique by powerful officials to keep normal citizens clueless as to what is going on in a society.
