Answer:

Where did the sinking take place?

Explanation:

The USS Maine was a US Navy boat that sunk on 15 February, 1898, in the Havana Harbor on the shores of then Spanish Cuba. The sinking was caused by an explosion, and with the American press blaming the Spanish, it was a major cause behind the Spanish-American War (April 21 - August 13, 1898).

How many people are in the photograph or who took it doesn't particularly help a historian to investigate what happened. Why did the US Navy use this kind of ship is a question better left to someone interested in military hardware. <u>A historian would ask where did the sinking take place</u>, because knowing where it happened would beg the question of why was that ship there, and who sent it there. Answering these questions allows the historian to reconstruct the timeline of events, and understand the cause-effect behind them.

What was the purpose of Coolidge's economic plans?
stepan [7]

Answer:

To decrease the federal budget.

Explanation:

<u>President Calvin Coolidge was the president of the United States from 1923 to 1929</u> who was one of the few presidents who left office with less financial debt than he first started with. His policy of <u>"economy in government"</u> led to the economic boom in the United States.

His most important work as the president was to make sure that the economy did not unnecessarily burden the people but at the same time, cause no serious damage to the whole economy of the country. He presented an economic plan whereby he <u>reduced the taxes imposed on the common people and also reduce the budget of the federal government</u>. He strongly believed that cutting or reducing both were vital for the sustenance of the country's economy without imposing a massive risk or destruction to the people. Rather, he believed that those who had more income should have the opportunity to <u>"better business, more of the comforts of life, general economic improvement, a larger opportunity for education, and greater freedom for all the people"</u>.

the principle of opportunity cost states that if you have more of one thing you must have less of another ..... true or false
sergey [27]
Hi there. The way this question is stated is going to need some input from you to infer what was meant by the language.

This answer would be True. Because opportunity cost means more of one and less of another in simple terms, since in an economy we cannot utilize all of our resources at one time.

But I would caution that the language is in the simplest of terms! Since a more thorough definition would be that opportunity cost is the amount lost by not taking the next-best alternative. If your teacher and lesson usually describe opportunity cost and other terms simply, then I would say to go for it and choose True.
But if your lesson seems to be strict on definitions, then maybe that isn't the best definition. I would say it is good enough though because although simple, it does encompass the whole idea.

I hope this helps!
