At the en of the story, after Bill Hutchinson draws a black dot in the first round of the game, which means that someone in his family will die in a really cruelty way. The real controversial part in the story, is that if it was not this family another one had to be, the practice itself is so cruel, no matter who the "winner" is. Someone has to die anyway.
