The nation will be deprived of making use of talents, abilities and creative capacities of sizeable number of people. It will break social harmony and people will be deprived of their rights and freedom which means it will create injustice. It also damages the self image and prestige of scheduled castes. It also leads to other social problems such as; discrimination, illiteracy, slavery and others. It perpetuates inequality. It will also lead to deprived skilled manpower to the country. It cannot support the development of good democratic tradition. So, untouchability on the basis of caste is major social problem.
