<span>In esophagus the stratified squamos epithelium acts for protection and lubrication during food intake. It is structured to act like a mucous layer. Normal stratified squamos epithelium are of flattened epithelial cells upon a basl membrane. It provides protection against friction, microbial invasion etc.</span>
