Answer:  No; they do not have proportional corresponding sides

Step-by-step explanation:

Since, here in triangles GHI and JKL,

∠ G = 46°, ∠I = 27° ⇒ ∠H = 107° , ∠L = 27°, ∠ K = 108°⇒∠J = 45°

GH = 4, HI = 5 , KJ= 2 and JL = 4

Here ∠I ≅ ∠L

But,  \frac{GH}{JK} \neq \frac{HI}{JL}

Therefore, they do not have proportional corresponding sides.

That is why they are not similar to each other.

Given the equation y = 4x - 3.A) If x increases by 1 unit, what is the corresponding change in y? B) If x decreases by 5 units,
DedPeter [7]

Answer:

A) y will increase by 4 unit.

B) y will decrease by 20 units

Step-by-step explanation:

Given equation that shows relation between x and y.

y=4x-3

A) If x is increased by 4 units

   New value of  y =  4(x+1)-3

                              =4x+4-3

                              =4x+1

So, change in y = new value of y- original value of y

                         =4x+1-(4x-3)

                          =4x+1-4x+3

                          =4

Thus, the value of y will be increased by 4 units.

B) If x is decreased by 5 units

   New value of  y =  4(x-5)-3

                              =4x-20-3

                              =4x-23

So, change in y = new value of y- original value of y

                         =4x+1-(4x-3)

                          =4x-23-(4x-3)

                          =4x-23-4x+3

                          = -20

Thus, the value of y will be decreased by 20 units.
