The remainder theorem says that the remainder upon dividing a polynomial p(x) by a linear polynomial x-a is the same as the value of p(x) at x=a. Dividing by any linear polynomial will always result in the following:

p(x)=(x-a)q(x)+r(x)

where q(x) and r(x) are also polynomials. Taking x=a, the term involving q(x) vanishes, so that p(a)=r(a) is exactly the remainder upon dividing.

Via synthetic division, we have

... |  2    -9    7    -5    11
4  |         8   -4   12    28
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
... |  2    -1    3     7    39

which translates to

\dfrac{2x^4-9x^3+7x^2-5x+11}{x-4}=2x^3-x^2+3x+7+\dfrac{39}{x-4}

that is, we're left with a remainder of 39.

Via the remainder theorem, we have

p(4)=2\times4^4-9\times4^3+7\times4^2-5\times4+11=39

as expected.

se quiere pintar una pared en forma de hexágono regular y se sabe que cada lado mide 3m y que su apotema es de 2,8m cual es el a
qwelly [4]

Answer:

El área total a pintar será:

A_{tot}=25.2\: m^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Sabiendo el apotema y la longitu de los lados, podemos encontrar el área de un triangulo. Recordemos que, si trazamos rectas del centro del hexágono a los vértices, se formaran 6 triángulos equiláteros.

El área de un triángulo es:

A_{t1}=\frac{b*a}{2}

b es la longitud de la base (b=3 m)

a es la apotema, osea la altura del triangulo (a = 2.8)

A_{t1}=\frac{2.8*3}{2}

A_{t1}=4.2\: m^{2}

Ahora, solo debemos mutiplicar ese valor por 6 para determianr el área total de la pared.

A_{tot}=25.2\: m^{2}

Espero te haya sido util!

Use the equation to complete an algebraic proof that proves the answer is x = 7/6. Write your proof in your journal and upload y
Ivahew [28]

Answer:

x=7/6

Step-by-step explanation:

subtract the 4x from both sides of the equation

(2x+6)-4x=4x-3-4x

find common denominator

(2x+6)/5+(5(-4)x)/5=4x-3-4x

then combine fractions

(2x+6+5(-4)x)/5=4x-3-4x

then multiply the 5&4

(2x+6-20x)/5= 4x3-4x

combine terms

(-18x+6)/5= -3

then multiply everything by 5

-18x+6= -15

subtract the 6 from both sides

-18x= -21

divide -21 by -18

(-21)/(-18)=x

find greatest common multiple (3) and solve

x = 7/6
