Answer is (-1,-3)
Step by step explanation:
Solving for x:
-7x+5y=-8
Multiply both side’s by 8
-56x+40y=-64

9x-8y=15
Multiply both sides by 5
45x-40y=75

Subtract
-56x+40y=-64
45x-40y=75
-11x=11
-11x/-11 = 11/-11
x=1

Substitute -1 for x to get y
-7(-1)+5y=-8
Multiply 7 and -1
7+5y=-8
Then subtract 7 from both sides
5y=-15
Then divide both sides by 5
Y=-3

Hey there mate ;)

Note that the quadratic function

A(x) = x(100-2x) gives the area.

Now, this equation is equivalent to:

A(x) = 100x - 2x²

To find maximum value of A, we first find the derivative of the given function:

\frac{dA}{dx} = 100 - 4x

Now find the critical value by setting dA/dx=0, that is:-

\frac{dA}{dx} = 100 - 4x = 0

Solving for x, we get:

x =  \frac{100}{4} = 25

Hence, the critical point is x=25

Now, Find 2nd derivative to check if the equation has maximum value:

A" =  - 4

Noting that the 2nd derivative is negative, hence, we have a maximum value. Infact, the maximum value in this case is when the value of x = 25.

The maximum area is therefore,

A = 25(100 - 2(25))

→ The Correct answer is:

1250ft^{2}

Solve the equation for yy. Leave your answer in terms of π.<br><br> π=7x−2y
scoray [572]
(pi) = 7x - 2y....subtract 7x from both sides
(pi) - 7x = -2y...divide both sides by -2
((pi) - 7x) / -2 = y

What number is to 100 as 4 is to 78
vitfil [10]
Hello,

4 is to 78 as x is to 100, we write it as a ratio:

\frac{4}{78}= \frac{x}{100}   \\  \\ x= \frac{100*4}{78}  \\  \\ \boxed{x= \frac{200}{39}=5.13}

A train that is 80 meters long travels 240 meters in 6 seconds. How many seconds would it take the train to pass through a 480 m
snow_tiger [21]
Speed=distance / time
Data:
distance=240 m
time=6 s

Speed of this train=240 m / 6 s=40 m/s

The train pass through 480 meters of tunnel, therefore the distance will be:
distance of the tunnel + distance of the train= 480 m + 80 m=560 m

speed=distance / time   ⇒  Time=distance / speed
Data:

distance=560 m
speed=40 m/s

Time=560 m/ (40 m/s)=14 s

Answer: 14 seconds will take the train to pass through a 480 m long tunnel.
