Ralph is 12. If Ralph is 12 that means Sara is 4 (12/4=3). In 4 years Sara will be 8 and Ralph would be 16 (16/8=2).

Let L, W and P denote length, width and perimeter.

L = (2/3)W - 5

The perimeter, P, is 2W + 2L, and this, in turn, is

2W + 2((2/3)W - 5), or 2W + (4/3)W - 10, or

(2 + 4/3)W - 10, or (10/3)W - 10

Joshua spent 3/7 of his money on souvenirs on vacation. He has $16 left. How much money did he spent on souvenirs? Explain.
satela [25.4K]

Answer:

He spent $12 on souvenirs

Step-by-step explanation:

Money spent = starting money * fraction spent

Money left = starting money - money spent

Money left = starting money - starting money * fraction spent

Factor out the starting money

Money left = starting money (1- fraction spent)

We know he spent 3/7 of his money and  has 16 dollars left

Substitute this information in

16 = starting money (1-3/7)

Change 1 to 7/7 so we have a common denominator

16 = starting money (7/7-3/7)

16 = starting money (4/7)

Multiply each side by 7/4

16 *7/4 = starting money *4/7*7/4

28 = starting money

Now we need to find the money spent

He started with 28 and has 16 left

28-16 = 12

He spent $12 on souvenirs

Ryu went shopping for new headphones he found a pair he wanted for $50.00. He found a discount code for 35%. How much did ryu sa
nadezda [96]
The answer is that Ryu saved $17.50

Explanation: Two ways to look at it, 35% is the same as saying 35 hundredths or 0.35. We know that anytime there’s an of in a math problem it means multiply, so you multiply .35x50 and you get 17.5 or $17.50.

Explanation 2: you can look at the 50 as the 100%, so if you divide 100% by 100 you get 1% so that’s what we’re going to start with dividing the 50 by 100 and you get .5, and now that you have 1% you can multiply that by 35 to get the 35%. Which is 17.5

Mars2501 [29]

Answer:

So, we purchased 9 songs and 4 games for 20.1$.

So, we purchased 10 songs and 6 games for 25.5$.

So, we purchased 10 songs and 10 games for 33.9$.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have receive a $35 gift certificate from an online retailer that sells digital music and games. Each song costs $1.29 and each game costs $2.10.

First case:

9\cdot 1.29=11.61\\\\4\cdot 2.10=8.4\\\\8.4+11.61=20.01

So, we purchased 9 songs and 4 games for 20.1$. We have 13 items  for 20.1$.

Second case:

10\cdot 1.29=12.9\\\\6\cdot 2.10=12.6\\\\12.9+12.6=25.5

So, we purchased 10 songs and 6 games for 25.5$. We have 16 items  for 25.5$.

Third case:

10\cdot 1.29=12.9\\\\10\cdot 2.10=21\\\\12.9+21=33.9

So, we purchased 10 songs and 10 games for 33.9$. We have 20 items  for 33.9$.
