Answer:

Will not fit

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

- The actual room dimension, R = ( 20.5 x 25 ) ft^2

- The scale used : 1 in ------> 2ft

- The available dimension of paper, P = ( 8.5 x 11 ) in^2

Find:-

- Will her drawing fit on paper for which the dimensions are given?

Solution:-

- We can use direct proportions to determine the dimensions of scale drawing of the room. Using the scale and actual dimensions as follows:

                                  in                   ft

         Scale:               1                     2

         Actual:              x                   20.5

- The scaled length of the room (x) can be calculated using direct proportions:

                                 x = (20.5 ft)*(1 in) / ( 2 ft)

                                 x = 10.25 in

-                                 in                   ft

         Scale:               1                     2

         Actual:             y                   25

- The scaled width of the room (y) can be calculated using direct proportions:

                                 y = (25 ft)*(1 in) / ( 2 ft)

                                 y = 12.5 in

- The dimensions of the scaled drawing of the room are:

                                 ( 10.25 x 12.5 )

- The available dimensions of the paper:

                                 ( 8.5 x 11 )

- We can conclude that:

                               ( 10.25 x 12.5 )  >  ( 8.5 x 11 )

The scaled drawing would be larger than the available paper. So the it would not fit!

Answer:

1)  f=−8/7 2) z=−3/7

Step-by-step explanation:

1)-f+8=-8f

−f+8=−8f

Step 1: Add 8f to both sides.

−f+8+8f=−8f+8f

7f+8=0

Step 2: Subtract 8 from both sides.

7f+8−8=0−8

7f=−8

Step 3: Divide both sides by 7.

7f/7=−8/7

f=-8/7

2) 6z-5=-z-8

6z−5=−z−8

Step 1: Add z to both sides.

6z−5+z=−z−8+z

7z−5=−8

Step 2: Add 5 to both sides.

7z−5+5=−8+5

7z=−3

Step 3: Divide both sides by 7.

7z/7=−3/7

Pls answer this with a picture showing the correct box plot
faust18 [17]

Answer/Step-by-step explanation:

To find out the mistake of the student, let's find the min, max, median, Q1 and Q3, which make up the 5 important values that are represented in a box plot.

Given, {2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 14, 15},

Minimum value = 2

Median = middle data point = 6

Q1 = 3 (the middle value of the lower part of the data set before the median)

Q3 = 14 (middle value of the upper part of the data set after the median)

Maximum value = 15

If we examine the diagram the student created, you will observe that he plotted the median wrongly. The median, which is represented by the vertical line that divides the box, ought to be at 6 NOT 10.

See the attachment below for the correct box plot.
