The solution to this systems of linear equations is (0,2). The two lines that are graphed for you intersect at a point. That is the solution. When you are looking to find a coordinate pair given a point, remember that you have to crawl before you walk. Start at the origin. Look to the left or right. If there is not point there, then your x coordinate is zero. Then, look up or down. In this case, the y coordinate is two because you have to go up two units on the y axis to get to the point.

Solve for a, geometry work
melisa1 [442]

Answer:

a = 45 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

Since both angles are a, they are equal to each other

Also, we know that the right angle means it measures 90 degrees

So, (180-90)/2 = a

a = 45 degrees

If x-1/x = 9 find the value of x +1/x
iren [92.7K]

Answer:

\sqrt{85}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

x - \frac{1}{x} = 9 ← square both sides

(x - \frac{1}{x})² = 9²

x² - 2 + \frac{1}{x^2} = 81 ( add 2 to both sides )

x² + \frac{1}{x^2} = 83

Now

(x + \frac{1}{x})² = x² + \frac{1}{x^2} + 2, thus

x² + \frac{1}{x^2} = 83 + 2 = 85

(x + \frac{1}{x} )²= 85 ( take the square root of both sides)

x + \frac{1}{x} = \sqrt{85}

Hey there I need some assistance need on this problem. What do I mean by checkpoints and how am I supposed to find the y-interce
MakcuM [25]

Slope Formula: y2 - y1 / x2 - x1

(m and slope represent the same quantity)

m = 1 - - 5 / -4 - 0

m = 1 + 5 / -4

m = 6 / -4

m = -3/2

Now that we know the slope, we can plug the slope and one of our points into slope-intercept form (y = mx + b) and solve for b. I will be using the point (-4,1).

y = -3/2x + b

1 = -3/2(-4) + b

1 = 6 + b

b = -5

In point form, the y-intercept is (0, -5).

Therefore, to get the equation all we need to do is plug in our slope and b-value to slope-intercept form.

Equation: y = -3/2 x - 5

To check the point (-6, -14) we plug it into our equation and see if the two sides are equal.

-14 = -3/2(-6) - 5

-14 = 9 - 5

-14 = 4

-14 does not equal 4, therefore the point is NOT on the line.

Hope this helps!

Triangle XYZ has vertices X(6,-2.3) Y(7.5,5) and Z(8,4) When translated X' has coordinates (2.8, - 1.3). Write a rule to describ
Nezavi [6.7K]
To find how much that you have to translate:
X'-X
[2.8-6,-1.3-(-2.3)]
->(x-3.2,y+1)
so Y'(4.3,6) and Z'(4.8,5)
