Why is it that the orthocenter of an obtuse triangle must lie on the outside of the triangle?

Mathematics

It is important to understand the meaning of orthocenter in respect to a triangle first. Ii is actually the intersection of all the altitudes within a triangle. The altitudes can be drawn from an angle to the opposite side but the line should create a right angle with the side of the triangle. In case of obtuse triangle, the three lines would meet outside the triangle. I hope the answer helps.

A greenhouse is offering a sale on tulip bulbs because they have inadvertently mixed pink bulbs with red bulbs. If 40% of the b
Zolol [24]

Answer: 0.8704

Explanation:

40% of the bulbs are pink, 60% are red

the probability of picking pink is 0.40 and the probability of not picking pink is 0.60

The chances of getting 4 non-pink in a row is 0.6*0.6*0.6*0.6 = 0.6^4 = 0.1296

The complement to this event is getting at least one pink bulb, which has a chance of 1-0.1296 = 0.8704

0.8704 converts to 87.04%

I can’t figure out how to do a and b for 33
Monica [59]
A)
original rectangle P = 2(w+l)
so
18 = 2(w+l) (1)

new rectangle
doubling width w, so its 2w
tripling length l, so its 3l
46 = 2(2w + 3l) (2)

now you have
18 = 2(w+l) (1)
9 = w + l so w = 9 - l

46 = 2(2w + 3l) (2)
23 = 2w + 3l

substitute w = 9 - l into 23 = 2w + 3l
23 = 2w + 3l
23 = 2(9 - l) + 3l
23 = 18 - 2l + 3 l
23 - 18 = l
5 = l or l = 5
w = 9 - l = 9 - 5 = 4

answer
original rectangle, length = 5 in and width = 4 in

b)new rectangle
length = 3l = 3(5) = 15 in
width = 2w = 2(4) = 8 in
