Because for each glucose molecule there are two pyruvic acid molecules entering the system, two ATP molecules are formed. Also during the Krebs cycle, the two carbon atoms of acetyl-CoA are released, and each forms a carbon dioxide molecule.

Answer:

Kerb cycle is the pathway through which most of the cellular energy (required for various metabolic processes with in a cell) is produced in the form of energy molecule ATP, NADH and FADH2

Explanation:

In a kerb cycle following happens sequentially -

a) Oxaloacetate (4 carbon compound) receives acetyl group (2 carbon) from acetyl CoA to produce citrate.

b) Enzyme aconitase act on citrate to convert it into isocitrate who ich is further converted to alpha-ketogluterate thereby releasing one molecule of NADH and CO2

c) alpha-ketogluterate is further converted into succynl-CoA accompanied by release of one molecule of NADH and CO2

d) ATP id produced while succynl-CoA is converted to succinate which is further converted to fumerate along with reduction of FAD to FADH2

e) Fumerate is then converted to malate and eventually to oxaloacetate by release of NADH

In one Kerb cycle, the end products produced are

2 × CO2

1 × ATP

3 × NADH

3 H+

1 × FADH2

g What are the three basic assumptions of Darwinian evolution? Group of answer choices Presence of phenotypic variation, some ph
enot [183]

Answer:

1- Presence of phenotypic variation

2- some phenotypic variation due to genetic variation

3- the given trait has an impact on fitness

Explanation:

The evolutionary theory by natural selection proposed by Darwin in his publication “On the origin of species” (1859) is based on a series of assumptions that enable to understand the amazing biodiversity on the Earth. First, individuals are not identical among them, i.e., there exists variation in the traits among the members of a given population, species, etc. Second, phenotypic variation leads to differential survival and reproduction of the organisms that are best fitted to the environment (i.e., competence among the members of the population). Finally, phenotypic traits are passed from generation to generation (i.e., phenotypic variation is inheritable), thereby favoring offspring from parents more adapted to the environment.

A person with a phenotype of HbSS has sickle cell disease. A person with a phenotype of HbAS allele carries the sickle cell trai
makkiz [27]

The right answer is 1/4.

Two carriers of the disease each have a chance in two to transmit their sick gene ie: 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/4

A genetic disease is said to be autosomal recessive when

The gene involved is carried by an autosome (non-sex chromosome, X or Y in XY system of sexual determination);

The associated phenotype of this trait is recessive (the presence of two identical alleles is essential for the character to be expressed).

One of the two alleles is transmitted by the male gamete, the other by the female gamete.

But being a carrier of the mutation does not necessarily mean being sick, the manifestations of a genetic disease depend on its penetrance and the variability of its expression.
