The Proclamation of 1763 affected colonial interests by forbidding their expansion westward.

Explanation:

After the French and Indian War, the British Empire issued the Royal Proclamation of 1763 through which they tried to calm the native Americans. This Proclamation forbid European and British colonists to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains, as this would be Indian territory. Also, they could not buy land or make agreements with the natives. It affected the colonists' interests because it was the first measure taken by the British Empire that <em>tightened control</em> over them. But what the British really wanted was to take monopoly of trade with these natives as only "licensed traders" would be allowed to deal with them. Eventually, the Proclamation failed since colonists defended their right to acquire new farmland and native Americans were pushed even farther west.

The Continental Navy had roughly 20 ships and Britain's Navy had roughly 500.  The Spanish ships helped make it hard for the British Navy to blockade the American coast.  They also send advisers to the colonists to help train them and help them improve.
