The following set of random numbers represents 20 simulations of three daily flights from New York to Los Angeles, with 0, 1, 2,

or 3 representing a late departure and 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 representing an on-time departure. In how many of the simulations was there an on-time departure for all three flights? 339 931 317 444 432 858 194 192 649 709 742 626 702 258 955 880 505 854 774 132

Could anyone please help me with this for Calculus AB? I'm not entirely sure if the answer I put down is correct or not; I got s
Korolek [52]

Hi there! :)

C. has both jump and infinite discontinuity.

Evaluate both piecewise functions at x = 1;

1 / (x + 1) = 1 / ((1) + 1) = 1/2

2x - 1 = 2(1) - 1 = 1

As the piecewise functions contain different y-values when evaluated at

x = 1,  there is a jump discontinuity at x = 1.

However, the first function also contains a vertical asymptote or infinite discontinuity where it is undefined, or at x = -1. (1 / 0 = undefined). This means that the function also contains an infinite discontinuity.

Therefore, the correct choice is:

C. has both jump and infinite discontinuity.

If you are given the graph of h(x)=log6x. how could you graph m(x)=log6(x+3)
Dovator [93]

We have been given the function h(x)=\log_6x

Now, we can see that in the transformed function  h(x)=\log_6(x+3), we have added 3 in the x.

Whenever we add/subtract some constant in the x, then the function gets translated to either left or right.

We know that if f(x) is a parent function and if we add a constant c then the function gets shift to c unit left.

Therefore, the given graph will get shifted 3 units left.

D is the correct option.

Translate each point of the graph of h(x) 3 units left.
