Suppose that a dominant allele (P) codes for a polka-dot tail and a recessive allele (p) codes for a solid colored tail. If two

heterozygous individuals with polka-dot tails mate, what's the probability of the phenotype and genotype combinations of the offspring? A. 75 percent chance of a polka-dot tail and 25 percent chance of a solid colored tail (25 percent PP; 50 percent Pp; 25 percent pp) B. 75 percent chance of a polka-dot tail and 25 percent chance of a solid colored tail (75 percent Pp; 25 percent pp) C. 50 percent chance of a polka-dot tail and 50 percent chance of a solid colored tail (50 percent PP; 50 percent pp) D. 25 percent chance of a polka-dot tail and 75 percent chance of a solid colored tail (25 percent PP; 50 percent Pp; 25 percent pp)

Option A is correct. After making a punnet square, we can see that the genotypic ratio would be 1:2:1, being 25% dominant, 25% recessive and 50% heterozygous. However, we are asked for the phenotypic trait percentage. The phenotypic ration is 3:1, with 75% polka dotted tail (dominant gene active) and 25% solid tail (recessive gene active).

how would the nervous system function be affected if both the presynaptic and postsynaptic neurons at every synapse had both syn
Ray Of Light [21]

Small, electron-lucent vesicles known as synaptic vesicles (SVs) are grouped at presynaptic terminals. They hold neurotransmitters and exocytosis, which is stimulated by calcium, releases them. After exocytosis, SVs are formed locally at the terminals.

  • From the presynaptic cell with synaptic vesicles to the postsynaptic cell with neurotransmitter receptors, a signal always moves in one direction across the chemical synapse.
  • The correct routing of nerve signals throughout the body is guaranteed by this one-way communication.
  • A signal is transmitted from one neuron—the presynaptic, or sending, neuron—to another neuron—the postsynaptic, or receiving, neuron—at the synapse, increasing or decreasing the likelihood that the postsynaptic neuron will fire its own action potential.
  • The stimulation causes a sensory neuron to go into an action potential, which alters the motor neuron's potential.
  • Excitatory because it tends to depolarize the cell, this potential is known as an excitatory postsynaptic potential (EPSP).

What are the primary atoms that make up the scents that we smell? 2. is scent subjective? why or why not? 3. what are the two di
aleksandrvk [35]

Answer: seen below

Explanation:

1) The olfactory receptor can recognize and respond to different ordor, For humans, most odorant molecules are made up of combinations of 5 kinds of atoms: these are, carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur.

2) yes, scent is subjective. This is because there is likely variation in people's sensitivity to odor or personal appreciation of different odors. Not everyone smells the same thing.

3) The two proposed theories for the mechanics of scent recognition are; vibration theory and shape theory which is also called the lock and key model. The main problem with one of Turin theories is that we can't currently predict odor character from vibration any better than we can from shape. That is we are still terrible at predicting ordor character from molecular structure.

4) Science has contributed to the creation of scented products and perfumes by having chemical Mixtures Tested in labs and addition of substances for smell.

5) Scents or fragrances are used in cosmetology as perfumes, lotions, shampoos, face washes, body cream, conditioners, etc. Cosmetologist need to be aware of scents and fragrances because if a perfume had a scent that did not smell right then no one would want to purchase their product.
