B.$84
I did this with cross multiplication.
\frac{x}{240}  \times  \frac{35}{100}
The fraction on the right is 35% over 100%. the 35% represents the percentage the 6th graders raised of the total money raised.

The fraction on the left is x (representing how many dollars the 6th graders raised, what we're trying to find) over $240, the total amount raised by the school.

1. cross multiply 35 with 240.
35x240=8400
2. Since we are looking for x and 100 is across from it you divide what you got from the first multiplication by 100
8400/100=(100*x)/100
=$84

B $84

Sixth grader raised 35% of the amount raised by the school. The school raised $240. So sixth grader raised 35% of $240,
35%*240=84.

If he drank 80% of his water on his entire hike. How much did he drink? (Remember he brought 3 liters of water.)
Mama L [17]

Answer:

<h2>2.4 Litres of water</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

80% of (3 litres)

You can take 3 litres to be 3000 ml which is how I solved it.

<h2>OPTION 1</h2><h2>_________</h2>

80/100 x 3000

=2400 or 2.4 litres

The same can go with not taking ml which you can just use litres

<h2>OPTION 2</h2><h2>_________</h2>

80/100 x 3

=2.4 litres

I used the ml since I do not need the calculator for that one and it is faster to calculate.

There are 7,500 shares of $10 par value participating 9 percent preferred stock outstanding, and 32,500 shares of common stock o
astraxan [27]
<h2>Answer:</h2><h2>Free distributable dividend = $ 27000</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 7,500 shares of $10 par value participating 9 percent preferred stock outstanding, and 32,500 shares of common stock outstanding. Therefore,

dividend paid to common stockholder =32500(0.50) = $ 16250

Preferred Stock dividend= 7500 (10) (0.09) = $ 6750

considering total dividend paid $ 50000 includes preferred dividend,then free distributable dividend = 50000 - 16250 - 6750 = $ 27000
