Answer:

y+4=-\frac{1}{2} (x-5)

This is the equation of the line perpendicular to the equation line through the points given that crosses through (-4,5)

Step-by-step explanation:

We can write the equation of a line in 3 different forms including slope intercept, point-slope, and standard depending on the information we have. We have a point given and a slope from the equation. We will chose point-slope since we have a point and can find the slope.

Point slope:y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

We must find the slope using the graph. We pick two points which intersect with grid lines from the line given.

Slope:m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

We substitute x_1=3\\y_1=2 and x_2=2\\y_2=0

m=\frac{0-2}{2-3}

m=\frac{-2}{-1}=\frac{2}{1} =2

m\neq 2 in our new equation because it is perpendicular to it. This means we will need to change it into its negative reciprocal which is m=-\frac{1}{2}.

We will substitute m=-\frac{1}{2} and now use the point they gave us (-4,5) x_1=-4\\y_1=5.

y-(-4)=-\frac{1}{2} (x-5)

y+4=-\frac{1}{2} (x-5)

This is the equation of the line perpendicular to the equation line through the points given that crosses through (-4,5)

Answer:

l = 2.25 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

given l is inversely proportional to w² then the equation relating them is

l = \frac{k}{w^2} ← k is the constant of proportion

(i)

to find k use the condition w = 1.5 , l = 16 , then

16 = \frac{k}{1.5^2} = \frac{k}{2.25} ( multiply both sides by 2.25 )

36 = k

l = \frac{36}{w^2} ← equation of proportion

(ii)

when w = 4 , then

l = \frac{36}{4^2} = \frac{36}{16} = 2.25 cm

Kobotan [32]

Answer:

Probability of getting at least 9 out of 18 correctly is 0.0043

Step-by-step explanation:

We have

n = 18

p = 1/5 for correct answer

q = 4/5 for wrong answer

P( 9 \leq X \leq 18) = 1 - P(0 \leq X\leq 8)

                       = 1 -  0.9957

                         =0.0043

3(x+2y)=7y-9 when y=3
8_murik_8 [283]
I'll do it step by step:

3(x+2(3))=7(3)-9
3(x+6)=21-9
3x+18=12

I don't know what x is, so I think that's as much as I can do.
