Amount that he needs = $( 2.50 - 0.75) = $ 1.75

2. Time taken in first half of race = 32.34 secs
Time taken in second half of race = 34.83 secs
Total time taken = (32.34 + 34.83) secs = 67.17 secs

3. Actual price of apple = $ 0.75
Amount paid by Jane = $ 5.00
Amount to be returned to Jane = $(5.00 - 0.75)
= $ 4.25

4. Distance covered by John = 0.7 miles
Distance covered by Nina = 0.4 miles
Distance that John covers more than Nina is given by = (0.7 - 0.4) miles = 0.3 miles

5.Weight of one pencil = 28.3 g
Weight of 5 pencils = 28.3 x 5 = 141.5 g
