Ranjit Singh is remembered for uniting the Sikhs and forming the Sikh empire. He was also remembered for his conquests and building a well trained and self sufficient army to protect that newly established empire. His most important and lasting legacy was the restoration and the expansion of the Harmandir Sahi,he renovated it with gold and marble thus it coined its name as the Golden Temple. He also made his empire rich with diamonds and golds from the defeated rivaling nations and empires, thus he made his empire, the Sikh, rich, wealthy and powerful.  <span />
