One way is to factor and group and get every 3
729=3 times 3 times 3 times 3 times 3 times 3
so we group the ones that happen 3 times
729=(3*3*3) times (3*3*3)
we know that we can take the cube root of each group and multiply the result
729=( \sqrt[3]{3*3*3})( \sqrt[3]{3*3*3})=(3)(3)=9

the answer is 9

What should be the first step in adding these equations to eliminate y<br> 8x+3y= 2<br> + 4x-by=-7
Shtirlitz [24]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Are you sure you wanted that "b" in the second equation?

If so, here's how we eliminate y:

1) Multiply the first equation by b:  8bx + 3by = 2b

2) Multiply the second equation by 3:  12x - 3by = -21

3) Combine these two results.  We get:

(8b + 12)x = 2b - 21

Here we have eliminated  y, but still have an equation in two variables, b and x.

Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

Given :

Helen Ming receives a travel allowance of $230 each week from her company for time away from home.

This allowance is taxable and she has a 28 percent income tax rate.

To Find :

Amount will she have to pay in taxes.

Solution :

Tax paid ( T ) = 28% of $230 .

T=230\times \dfrac{28}{100}\\\\T=\$64.4

Therefore, amount will she have to pay in taxes for this employee benefit is $64.4 .

Hence, this is the required solution.

Natali5045456 [20]

Answer:

9) 1/2 (or 1:2, or 50%, or .50, depending on how your teacher wants it.

10) 2/3 (or 2:3, or 66.6%, or 0.66)

Step-by-step explanation:

9) Here are the possibilities of the cards you could pick

KQ, KJ, K10, QJ, Q10, J10

Since there are 6 possibilities and only 3 of them have one face card, the probability is 3/6, or 1/2.

10) It doesn’t matter which card you pick first.  The second card has a 1 in 3 chance of being the same card (whatever it is).  That means you have a 2 in 3 chance of it NOT being the same card.  So the probability is 2/3.
