The term "essential nutrients" refers to the group of nutrients which are necessary for the normal functioning of human physiology but they cannot be synthesized by the human body. This means that these nutrients need to be obtained from external sources. This category of nutrients is comprised of some amino acids, two fatty acids, some vitamins and minerals.
Glucose and cellulose are not part of the essential nutrients. Also, only 9 of the 20 protein-producing amino acids cannot be synthesized by the human body and are therefore considered essential.
