39.6-2.35+1.45=38.70

so basically, you are starting at 39.60

then you go down 2.35 and increase by 1.45

so if you do what I did above, you get $38.70.

A student drew a circle and two secant segment. He concluded that if PQ ~= PS, Then QR ~= ST. Do you agree with the student’s co
9966 [12]

Answer:

 Yes

Step-by-step explanation:

You can get there a couple of ways. One makes use of the secant rules that tell you ...

 PQ × PR = PS × PT

Substituting for PR and PT, you have ...

 PQ × (PQ + QR) = PS × (PS + ST)

 PQ² + PQ×QR = PS² + PS×ST

Substituting PQ for PS everywhere, we have ...

 PQ² + PQ×QR = PQ² + PQ×ST

Dividing by PQ gives ...

 PQ + QR = PQ + ST

and subtracting PQ leads us to the conclusion ...

 QR = ST

_____

Another way to look at it is to draw the chord QS. Then ΔQPS is an isosceles triangle, and the perpendicular bisector of QS bisects ∠P and also goes through the circle center. Then the figure is symmetrical about that diameter secant, making QR ≅ ST.

You are paid $8.50/hr at your part-time job. Your deductions are FICA (7.65%), federal tax withholding (9.15%), and state tax wi
dexar [7]
$8.50/hr multiplied by 16 hours worked equals $136. $136 minus (7.65%)(136) equals $125.60. $125.60 minus (9.15%)(136) equals $113.16. Travel expenses of $6.00 multiplied by 4 equals $24. $113.16 minus 24 equals $89.16 net income.

Your club is selling hats and t-shirts to raise money for juvenile diabetes. You have already spent $240 on the hats and t-shirt
Arlecino [84]

The number of hats sold = x

The number of t-shirts sold = y

Cost of selling of each hat = $5 and

Cost of selling of each t-shirt = $12.

Cost of x hats at the rate $5 each = 5x and

Cost of y t-shirts at the rate $12 each = 12y.

Total cost of x hats and y t-shirts = 5x+12y.

Total amount was spent = $240.

Therefore, cost of x hats and y t-shirts should be greater than or equal to 240.

So, the inequality for the situation would be

5x+12y ≥ 240.
