Global climate might have changed because back then they would create fires everywhere at night and during the winter and the smoke from the fire might have effect the weather and the climate and when people who where immigrants traveling from let's say Italy took boat and the oil from boats leaked into the water allowing the to change climate use whatever answer u would like.
