Order the number:
42,42,45,45,48,50,50,55,60,65,80

Mean:50
Quartile 1:45
Quartile 3:60

60-45=15. As a result, the interquartile range is 15. Hope it help!

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Data set  {48, 50, 65, 60, 80, 42, 45, 50, 42, 55, 45}.

To find : What is the interquartile range of the data set?

Solution : We have Data set  {48, 50, 65, 60, 80, 42, 45, 50, 42, 55, 45}.

Order the number:

42,42,45,45,48,50,50,55,60,65,80 .

Median : (42,42,45,45,48),50,(50,55,60,65,80 ).

50 is the median .

Median of first quartile Q1 : 45.

Median of second quartile Q2 : 60.

interquartile range = Q2-Q1  = 60-45 = 15.

Therefore, Interquartile range is 15.

What is the x-value at which the graphs of y = x2 – 2x + 1 and y = x2 + 2x – 7 inter-<br> sect?
Kitty [74]

Answer:

x = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Both equations are equal to y, so they're also equal to each other.  We then set them equal to each other:

x^2 - 2x + 1  =  x^2 + 2x - 7

We now do algebra to isolate x.  Subtract 1 from both sides.

x^2 - 2x  =  x^2 + 2x - 8

Subtract 2x from both sides.

x^2 - 4x  =  x^2 - 8

Subtract x^2 from both sides.

-4x = -8

Divide both sides by -4.

x = 2

Answer: Mean = 3.5 , median = 2.5, mode = 2, geometric mean = 2.74

Median is the most appropriate measure of central tendency.

The least appropriate = mean

Yes there is an outlier.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given responses : 5, 4, 2, 1, 1, 2, 10, 2, 3, 5.

First arrange them in increasing order, \sqrt[10]{1\times1\times2\times2\times2\times3\times4\times5\times5\times10 }\\\\=\sqrt[10]{24000} \approx2.74

Its sum = 35

Mean of n observations = (Sum of observations) ÷ n

Mean = (35) ÷ 10

=3.5

Here n =10 (even)

Median = average of middle most numbers = \dfrac{2+3}{2}=\dfrac52=2.5

Mode = most repeated number = 2    (thrice)

geometric mean = \sqrt[n]{x_1\times x_2\times.... x_n}

10 is an outlier as it is very large as compare to other numbers.

When outlier is present in data , the median is the most appropriate measure of central tendency.

Mean affected badly by the outlier so it the least appropriate.
