If you mean the Boston tea party then in my opinion they did it out of extreme anger. They had pretty much nothing else they could do and thought well why not dress up as Indians and go destroy a bunch of tea. The way I'm explaining it probably sucks but to me that's how it seems.
The first main goal was to find a north west passage- a direct route to the pacific ocean.
The second goal was to collect and record new plants and animals species.
The third goal was to make new and accurate maps.

I think a lot more people accept it and there attitude is more positive about it but there are still a lot of people (like me) who still think negatively about it.
