The Power of a Product property tells us that when you multiply two numbers with the same base, you can add their exponents to determine the product.
For example, x^{a} * x^{b} = x^{a+b}.

The Power of a Quotient Property tells us that when you divide two numbers with the same base, you can subtract their exponents to determine the quotient.
For example, x^{a}/x^{b} = x^{a-b}

The equation tan(x- pi/3) is equal to _____.
kherson [118]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the expansion

tan(x - y) = \frac{tanx-tany}{1+tanxtany}, then

tan(x - \frac{\pi }{3})

=  \frac{tanx-tan(-\frac{\pi }{3}) }{1+tanxtan(-\frac{\pi }{3}) }

note that tan( -\frac{\pi }{3}) = - tan(\frac{\pi }{3}) = - \sqrt{3}

= \frac{tanx-(-\sqrt{3}) }{1+tanx(-\sqrt{3}) }

= \frac{tanx+\sqrt{3} }{1-\sqrt{3}tanx } → B
