X/18 = (15+12)/12 <=== when you put in fractions, the numerator or denominator from both the fractions should be from the same triangle

x/18 = 27/12 <=== cross multiply it
12x = 27×18
x = 486/12
x = 40.5

12/27= 18/x
so
x = 15*18 / 12
x = 270/12
x = 40.5

answer
D . x = 40.5

5|2x - 3| + 4 = 9
How do you solve this
agasfer [191]

Answer:

x = 2, or x = -1

Step-by-step explanation:

If 2x - 3 is inside the parenthesis (), then the value of x is 2.

If 2x - 3 is inside the absolute value sign, then the value of x will probably be -1.

Solution 1

(10x-15) + 4 = 9

10x -11 = 9

10x = 20    -> x = 2

Solution 2 (Not 100% sure)

|10x -15| +4 = 9

10x + 15 +4 = 9

10x + 19 = 9

10x = -10      -> x = -1

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

James is in charge of the decorations. He has a total budget of $50 to spend for all of the decorations. James spends $20 on one
Gre4nikov [31]
B. Is the correct answer. For part B, he can buy 15 balloons since X=15. Plug this back into the equation to check: 2(15)+20=50.
2(15)=30+20=50.

Write an equation of a parabola that passes through the point (2,4) with vertex (-1,-1) in vertex form.
quester [9]
An applicable equation of a vertical parabola in vertex form is:

y-k = a(x-h)^2

Let x=2, y=4, h=-1 and k=-1, where (h,k) is the vertex.  Then,

4-(-1) = a(2-[-1])^2, which becomes 5 = a(9).  Therefore, a = 5/9, and the
equation of the parabola is

y+1 = (5/9)(x+1)

Answer:

-3x³ - 4x² + x - 9

Step-by-step explanation:

-5x³ + 2x² + x - 7

- (-2x³ + 6x² + 0 + 2)     remember:  when you subtract, you 'add the opposite'

-3x³ + (-4x²) + x + (-9)
